For nearly 60 years, Squam Lakes Natural Science Center has enlightened visitors through live animal exhibits, natural science education programs, guided Squam Lake Cruises, an informal public garden, and Blue Heron School, a nature-based Montessori early learning center. Today it is a top attraction in New Hampshire.

Business partnerships and support play a vital role in allowing Squam Lakes Natural Science Center to continue advancing an understanding of ecology by exploring New Hampshire’s natural world. The Science Center offers several ways to become involved, including membership, sponsorship, volunteer opportunities, and philanthropic giving. With over 65,000 annual trail visitors and nearly 9,000 lake cruise visitors, aligning with the Science Center provides companies a unique, engaging, and meaningful way to reach potential customers and positively impact the community. Fun, family friendly zoo. This facility is built and maintained to be a very natural setting for the animals. They have native species to New Hampshire like fox, fishers, deer and black bears. You get to enjoy a beautiful walk in the woods while learning about the local wildlife. They also recently built a wooden kids play area that my 13 yr old and 5 yr old love. Beautiful facility, animals areas well maintained, friendly staff. We are annual visitors.

I have grown up going to the science center and never realized how lucky I have been to experience it until I had the opportunity to take my son here. As a parent it's such an incredible experience to see young children explore and become familiar with the natural world. It's fun, it's exciting for kids and adults (who doesn't want to be one glass pane away from amazing mountain lions!?), it's educational and it takes a solid two hours of a two and a half year old running at full speed to get through the whole path and playgrounds. Thank you Squam Lake for the perfect toddler naps.

This place is wonderful. It's a great way to spend a half day with the kids. There are engaging exhibits and animals that are native to the region. They've implemented a no food policy and routed traffic in one direction during COVID.

As a NH Guide, I visited the Science Center this week with a tour group from Pennsylvania. We enjoyed a talk by Victoria, one of the Center's Naturalists, on three of the animals in their care. My group was genuinely excited to learn so many interesting facts and Victoria kept everyone's attention, especially when she introduced us to Skunk 24. Not to be out done, we all enjoyed the presentation on the Blandings turtle and the Barred Owl. All positive comments from my group as we left the Center that day. Great program!
